I am grateful to have had Michelle’s death midwifery support during the last two years of my father’s life. She was extremely caring, thoughtful, and helpful in helping me to honor not only his legacy, but also his transition.

Here's what our families have to say

Having Michelle present for the last several months of my dad’s life eased the burden of death on us, and created such a reverence around the entire process. She was able to facilitate the most difficult conversations with me and my father, and the presence of him as an ancestor after death. She also helped us through his whole passing process and allowed us to be fully involved in preparing for the three day vigil at our home, which was incredibly healing. Without her presence throughout those last few months, I don’t know how we would have done it.

Michelle guided my family through these losses and her services were so deeply meaningful to all of us. Navigating the loss of a loved one can sometimes be too much to bear and it is a blessing to have access to an individual like Michelle. When my mother-in-law passed away, she helped us wash and prepare her body. Michelle also provided a beautiful shroud to wrap her in and we filled the shroud with flowers and notes as we sent her off. These rituals helped us close the circle on a long illness and death. I cannot recommend Michelle more highly-she is one of the most compassionate and generous people I have ever worked with.

Love note for Michelle:

I am so grateful that my family was supported by Michelle through the journey of caring for my partner, and children’s father, in living and dying well for the last few months of his life. I don’t think we’d have held it with the love and grace we wanted to without her.

Michelle met with my husband as he struggled with the idea of dying and with him worked towards surrender. READ FULL STORY...

Michelle Mondia is an extraordinary human being. We deeply treasure the magic and love and total support that she brought to my family and 50 dear friends as we gathered to help my wife transition after her long and difficult struggle to survive cancer. Michele was there every step of the way, supporting us from the most practical: helping us navigate hospital doctors and administration, transporting my wife’s body to our home for a three day vigil, to the death certificate, cremation logistics, and a memorial ceremony held several weeks after the death attended by several hundred of our community.
